Six-time Tony Award winner Audra McDonald headlined the New York Philharmonic’s spring gala on May 1 at David Geffen Hall. The concerts were conducted by McDonald’s longtime music director, Andy Einhorn.
In addition to songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, and Leonard Bernstein, McDonald performed the work of established and up-and-coming musical theatre songwriters whose work she has championed throughout her career.
