Directed by six-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis, the cast includes Ashford as Essie Sycamore and Byrne in her Broadway debut as Alice Sycamore. Newly announced cast members also include Mark Linn-Baker (Forum, "Perfect Strangers"), Crystal A. Dickinson (Clybourne Park), Julie Halston (Anything Goes, The Divine Sister), Marc Damon Johnson (Lucky Guy), Patrick Kerr (Stage Kiss, The Ritz) and Tony nominee Reg Rogers (Holiday, The Royal Family).

They join previously announced Tony winner Jones (Driving Miss Daisy, Fences) as Grandpa Vanderhof and Tony nominee Kristine Nielsen (Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike) as Penelope Sycamore.

The revival will officially open Sept. 28.

Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, who just picked up two additional Tony Awards for Best Original Score and Best Orchestrations for The Bridges of Madison County, will write original music for the production.

The revival will have set design by David Rockwell, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Donald Holder, hair and wig design by Tom Watson and sound design by Jon Weston. "Family can do crazy things to people," according to press notes. "And the Sycamore family is a little crazy to begin with. James Earl Jones heads the wackiest household to ever hit Broadway in Kaufman and Hart’s Pulitzer Prize-winning classic You Can’t Take It With You. He plays wily Grandpa Vanderhof, leader of a happily eccentric gang of snake collectors, cunning revolutionaries, ballet dancers and skyrocket makers. But when the youngest daughter brings her fiancé and his buttoned-up parents over for dinner, that’s when the real fireworks start to fly."

The original production opened at the Booth Theater Dec. 14, 1936, and played for 837 performances. The play won the 1937 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

You Can’t Take It With You will be produced by effrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Jam Theatricals, Dominion Pictures, Gutterman Goldsmith, Daryl Roth, Terry Schnuck, Jane Bergere, Caiola Productions, Rebecca Gold, LaRuffa Hinderliter, Gabrielle Palitz, Spisto & Kierstead, SunnySpot Productions, VenuWorks Theatricals, Jessica Genick and Will Trice..

Tickets are on sale via Telecharge.com.

The Longacre Theatre is located at 220 West 48th Street.
