Directed by Michael Kearns and produced by Racquel Lehrman, the solo show will begin previews Sept. 6 with an official opening the following evening. The limited engagement will run through Oct. 14. Rodd adapted his original "Footsteps" screenplay for the stage; the work was inspired by his lifelong dream to become a professional football player. In the play Rodd, according to press notes, "finds himself caught in a strange time warp shortly after being cut from the pro team tryouts, transcending to a place where he finally gets the chance to live out his dream. . . . He must choose between the big, yet unattainable dream of his childhood, making the 'big leagues,' or of settling down with his beautiful sweetheart instead."
An actor, writer and stand-up comic, Roger Rodd has appeared in the films "Behind the Plank," "Payback" and "Chance" as well as in the TV serials "The Young and the Restless" and "General Hospital." His previous professions include policeman, lifeguard and professional poker player.
