Cyrano, starring James McAvoy, officially opened Off-Broadway April 14 at Brooklyn Academy of Music, and the reviews are in. The U.S. premiere of Martin Crim's adaptation runs through May 22.

Jamie Lloyd directs the production which stars McAvoy in the title role along with Michele Austin, Adam Best, Sam Black, Nari Blair-Mangat, Vaneeka Dadhria, Adrian Der Gregorian, Tom Edden, Eben Figueiredo, Jon Furlong, Tazmyn-May Gebbett, Carla Harrison-Hodge, Mika Onyx Johnson, Joseph Langdon, Sophie Mercell, Evelyn Miller, Nima Taleghani, and Brinsley Terence.

Crimp adapted the story about the poet-warrior with a large nose and the love triangle he becomes involved in, originally written by Edmond Rostand, into a rap battle-meets-slam poetry style production. His stripped-back interpretation of the 1897 verse drama first opened at London's Playhouse Theatre and won the 2020 Olivier Award for Best Revival and earned four additional Olivier Award nominations, including Best Actor and Best Director.
