Atlantic Theater Company celebrated the Off-Broadway opening of Describe the Night December 5. The new play by Tony-nominated playwright Rajiv Joseph (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo, Guards at the Taj) debuts in New York following a world premiere at Houston's Alley Theatre earlier this fall.

Describe the Night charts the crossed paths of seven men and women against the backdrop of Russian history—through the evolution of the Soviet State to present-day Putin, politics, and conspiracy.

The cast is made up of six-time Tony nominee Danny Burstein, Rebecca Naomi Jones (Significant Other), Tina Benko (The Public's Julius Caesar), Nadia Bowers (The Farnsworth Invention), Zach Grenier (The Good Wife), Max Gordon Moore (Indecent), and Stephen Stocking (Archduke at The Mark Taper Forum).
Performances of Describe the Night began November 11 and are scheduled through December 24.
The production features sets by Tim Mackabee, costumes by Amy Clark, lighting design by Lap Chi Chu, and sound design and original music by Daniel Gluger. Casting is by Telsey + Company.
