News Port Authority, With Billy Carter, Peter Maloney and James Russell, Opens Off-Broadway The Irish Repertory Theatre presents Port Authority, Conor McPherson's story of three Irish men, officially opening Oct. 2 following previews that began Sept. 24.

Directed by Ciarán O'Reilly, the production continues at the DR2 Theatre through Nov. 16.

The three-person cast includes Billy Carter (A Moon for the Misbegotten, All That Fall), Peter Maloney (Outside Mullingar, Judgment at Nuremberg) and James Russell (Juno and the Paycock, The Freedom of the City).

"Port Authority is the story of three generations of Irish men: Kevin, a rudderless young man falling for his female roommate who doesn't reciprocate; Dermot, in middle age, mistakenly launched into a job he cannot handle; and Joe, a widower who hordes a lifelong romantic passion," press notes state. "Conor McPherson, Ireland's master storyteller, weaves an interconnected tale of life, love, and shattered dreams."

The production has scenic design by Charlie Corcoran, costume design by Linda Fisher, lighting design by Michael Gottlieb, sound design by M. Florian Staab and music by Ryan Rumery.

McPherson's plays also include The Seafarer, Shining City and The Weir.
