Todrick Hall, the YouTube sensation whose Broadway credits include Memphis and the original production of The Color Purple, joined the cast of the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots November 1. Hall steps into the role of Lola, the part created by Tony winner Billy Porter, through March 5, 2017.
With a Tony Award-winning score by Cyndi Lauper, a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell, Kinky Boots, according to its producers, “tells the uplifting and heartwarming tale of Charlie Price, a young man reluctantly taking over his family’s struggling business. Charlie meets and finds inspiration in Lola and together, the unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible… and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.”
