The Society of Illustrators presents Al Hirschfeld, Characterist, an assemblage of 25 Hirschfeld drawings - many of which have never been exhibited before - that range from 1937 to 2000.

"This collecton of drawings showcases Hirschfeld's remarkable talent for capturing the character of his subjects, while simultaneously providing valuable visual documentation of the world of performance. Noted performers include Groucho Marx, Ed Wynn, the Lunts, Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Helen Hayes, Jennifer Jones, Burgess Meredith, Nancy Walker, Ruth Gordon, George Segal, Zoe Caldwell, Tim Curry and Fran Leibowitz."
Al Hirschfeld, Characterist will be on display in the Hall of Fame Dining Room at the Society of Illustrators through June 2.
Admission is free of charge and open to the public Tuesday - Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 12 PM to 4 PM.
