Signature's revival, directed by Michael Greif, began Sept. 14 with part one, Millennium Approaches, and premieres part two, Perestroika, Sept. 16. The company recently announced a second extension for the production, to Feb. 20, 2011.
The original New York production of Millennium Approaches opened May 4, 1993, with Perestroika opening Nov. 23 of the same year. Director George C. Wolfe's cast included Kathleen Chalfant, David Marshall Grant, Marcia Gay Harden, Ron Leibman, Joe Mantello, Ellen McLaughlin, Stephen Spinella and Jeffrey Wright.
