News Pasek and Paul's Dogfight Will Get London Concert Reunion The original London cast of Dogfight, Pasek and Paul's 2012 musical based on the 1991 film of the same name, is to be reunited at the St James Theatre in a concert staging that will be given two performances Oct. 11. It originally ran in London at Southwark Playhouse in August and September 2014.

The production was nominated Best Musical and Laura Jane Matthewman named Outstanding Emerging Talent in the Evening Standard Awards. It also received three Off West End Award nominations including Best Musical, Best Female and Best Male, and it was shortlisted Best Off West End Production in the Whatsonstage Awards.

In a press statement, producer Danielle Tarento has commented, “Dogfight was such a special project for everyone involved. Now we have a wonderful opportunity to reunite the Dogfight family to once more sing the magical score by Pasek and Paul and relive again the heartbreaking love story between Eddie and Rose. As the lyrics to the show’s opening song say: ‘Take me back...’"

The musical is set in 1963. The night before their deployment to Vietnam, three young Marines set out for one final boys’ night of debauchery. But when Corporal Eddie Birdlace meets Rose, the unassuming and idealistic waitress he enlists to win a cruel bet, she rewrites the rules of the game and opens his eyes to what really matters in life.

Jamie Muscato and Laura Jane Matthewson will reprise their performances as Eddie and Rose respectively.

Muscato was in the world première of The Light Princess, Les Misérables (both the feature film and on the international tour), Rock Of Ages at the Shaftesbury, Love Story at Chichester and the Duchess and Spring Awakening. Matthewson won The Ronald Wlliam White Prize for Acting Through Song at The Royal Academy of Music. Dogfight marked her London stage debut in a starring role. The cast also comprises Cellen Chugg Jones, Nicholas Corre, Matthew Cutts, Ciaran Joyce, Amanda Minihan, Rebecca Trehearn and Samuel J. Weir.

The musical features music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul and a book by Peter Duchan, based on the Warner Bros. film and screenplay by Bob Comfort.  It is directed by Matt Ryan, with choreography by Lucie Pankurst, and musical direction by George Dyer. The producer and casting director is Danielle Tarento.
