Algonquin Theater Productions and Jason Hewitt will present the world premiere of On the Rails.
With a book by Tony Sportiello (Second Chance, National Pastime) and music and lyrics by Al Tapper (Sessions), the show begins September 13 and officially opens September 18.
Directed by Misti B. Wills, On the Rails follows three different couples (played by the same pair of actors) set aboard “a mystical and timeless locomotive, guided by a melodic train conductor.”
The production features scenic design by April Bartlett, lighting design by Michael O’Connor, costume design by Jacob A. Climer and sound design by Josh Liebert. Casting has not yet been announced for this limited engagement, which will play through November 15.
