Readings and Workshops New Musical SuperYou Taps Broadway Creatives for Developmental Presentation

Skylight Music Theatre will produce a run of Lourds Lane's rock musical at Milwaukee's Cabot Theatre.

Lourds Lane's new rock musical SuperYou will play a developmental run at the Cabot Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin later this spring.Skylight Music Theatre will produce the work, which has slated performances for Mary 26-June 18, as a replacement for the developmental run of The Song of Bernadette.

The production has tapped Broadway alums including director-choreographer JoAnn M. Hunter (School of RockBad Cinderella) and music director Wendy Bobbitt Cavett (Come From Away, Mamma Mia!) for the run.

Filipino-American rock music artist Lane wrote and composed SuperYou which follows a comic book artist who finds the power of her own voice when her creations come to life. Tony nominee Melissa M. Jones (Jagged Little PillCome From Away) produces.

    The full cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.

    Originally scheduled to premiere Off-Broadway in May 2020, SuperYou has previously been staged as a concert. First presented in June 2020 as a socially-distanced performance at a drive-in theatre, which later streamed, it subsequently played Carnegie Hall in 2022 and had a U.K. debut and London workshop last year as well.

    Ticketholders for The Song of Bernadette will be automatically moved to corresponding performances for  SuperYou with the ability to have their tickets rescheduled, credited, or refunded.
