The West End production of Wicked will welcome a new set of leads beginning July 24 at London's Victoria Apollo Theatre.
That evening, the company will welcome Alice Fearn as Elphaba, Sophie Evans as Glinda, Bradley Jaden as Fiyero, Melanie La Barrie as Madame Morrible, Andy Hockley as the Wizard, Jack Lansbury as Boq, and Laura Pick as the standby for Elphaba.
The group will join current cast members Martin Ball (Doctor Dillamond), Sarah McNicholas (Nessarose), and Carina Gillespie (standby for Glinda).
Current cast members Willemijn Verkaik (Elphaba), Suzie Mathers (Glinda), Oliver Savile (Fiyero), Sue Kelvin (Madame Morrible), Mark Curry (the Wizard), and Idriss Kargbo (Boq) will all play their final performances July 22.
Fearn joined the London production of Wicked in 2016 as the standby for Elphaba and will now assume the role full-time. Her previous West End appearances include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Shrek The Musical, Into The Woods, Les Misérables (as well as the film adaptation), and The Woman in White. Evans, who steps into the role of Glinda, was the runner-up in the BBC talent show Over the Rainbow and subsequently played Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium. Jaden currently stars as Fiyero in the international tour of Wicked.
Wicked features music and lyrics by multi-Grammy and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello.
