Presented by The Academy of Magical Arts, Inc. and The Magic Castle, the March 8 ceremony will be held in California at Avalon Hollywood. Show time is 7 PM. The annual event, according to press notes, "celebrates the lavish world of mystery and illusion by gathering the top magicians from all over the world for one star-studded spectacular night."
Steve Dick is executive-producing the evening, which will be penned by David Regal. Producers are Neil Patrick Harris and Matt Patton.
A party will follow the ceremony.
Neil Patrick Harris has been seen on Broadway in Assassins, Cabaret and Proof. He appeared in the Geffen Playhouse's production of All My Sons as well as the L.A. company of Rent, the Reprise! production of Sweeney Todd and the London mounting of tick, tick . . . BOOM! His screen credits include the current "How I Met Your Mother" as well as "Undercover Brother," "Doogie Howser, M.D.," "Stark Raving Mad" and "Joan of Arc."
