News National Theatre Live Will Begin Fourth Season With Broadcasts of The Curious Incident of the Dog... National Theatre Live, an initiative to broadcast live performances from the National Theatre's stages to cinemas worldwide, will begin its fourth season Sept. 6 with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at cinemas throughout North America.

Based on Mark Haddon's award-winning novel, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time was adapted for the stage by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott (War Horse).

In the New York City area, screenings will be held at NYU's Skirball Center, City Cinema 123, Kew Gardens Cinema, Fairfield University (CT) and more.

Here's how the work is described: "Christopher, 15 years old, stands beside Mrs Shears' dead dog. It has been speared with a garden fork, it is seven minutes after midnight and Christopher is under suspicion. He records each fact in the book he is writing to solve the mystery of who murdered Wellington. He has an extraordinary brain, exceptional at math while ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched and he distrusts strangers. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that upturns his world."

Following The Curious Incident at NT Live will be Stephen Beresford's new play, The Last of the Haussmans, beginning Oct. 11. Directed by Howard Davies, the work "examines the fate of the 1960s revolutionary generation and offers a funny, touching and at times savage portrait of a family full of longing that's losing its grip." The cast includes Rory Kinnear, Matthew Marsh, Helen McCrory and Julie Walters.

Since NT Live's first season in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre, starring Helen Mirren, over 750,000 people have now experienced the National's work on movie screens worldwide. For a complete list of dates, times and locations, visit NTLive.com.
