NY Musical Theatre Fest Military Movement Explored in NYMF’s Moopim at P.S. 122, Sept. 27-Oct. 1 The world premiere of Moopim, a dance theatre piece by LeeSaar the Company that is co-presented by the Impact Festival and the New York Musical Theatre Festival’s dance series, will take place Sept. 27-Oct. 1 at P.S. 122, 150 First Avenue.

Described as an exploration of occupation, humanity, fear, and the freedom to dream embodied by four women and one man, Israeli choreographer Saar Harari will craft a kind of coda to the “Herd of Bulls,” in which explosive military movement was co-opted to inform one soldier’s journey through the emotional aftermath of violence.

“The company's physical vocabulary implodes, occupying a mental territory torn by the duality of living a life of freedom in a place where others cannot…The company’s physical vocabulary is infused with the sensual, the feminine, and the unknown to create a “visceral and compelling experience.”

The cast of dancers includes Ellen Cremer, Rossella Fusco, Saar Harari, Rachel Okimo, Brian Prunka, and Lee Sher.

It will be performed with live music by Brian Prunka on the oud, a traditional Arabic instrument.
