Tony nominee Maria Dizzia will assume the lead role in the world-premiere production of Leslye Headland’s The Layover at Second Stage Theatre beginning September 6.
Vinyl star Annie Parisse, who has to leave the production to begin filming the new Netflix series Friends From College, will play her final performance September 4.
The world premiere of The Layover officially opened August 25 at Second Stage Theatre Off-Broadway. The psychological drama sees the unfurling of a relationship between two strangers who meet during an airport layover, played by Parisse and Adam Rothenberg (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea).
Previews began August 9 for the Trip Cullman-directed play. The cast also features Quincy Dunn-Baker (Draft Day), Arica Himmel, John Procaccino (Clybourne Park) and Amelia Workman (Natasha, Pierre...).
Performances take place at Second Stage’s Tony Kiser Theatre.
