Nick Robinson, acclaimed for his performance in the film Love, Simon, will make his Broadway debut this fall in Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird.
Robinson will step into the role of Jem Finch beginning November 5 at the Shubert Theatre. That same day, as previously reported, four-time Academy Award nominee and two-time Golden Globe winner Ed Harris will succeed Jeff Daniels as Atticus Finch.
Robinson made his stage debut at age 12 as Jem Finch in a previous stage version of To Kill a Mockingbird at the Seattle Intiman Theatre, also directed by Bartlett Sher. Additional film and television credits include Native Son; Strange But True; Krystal; Everything, Everything; The 5th Wave; Being Charlie; Jurassic World; Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ The Kings of Summer; Francesca Lia Block’s Weetzie Bat; Seth Savoy’s Echo Boomers; and Boardwalk Empire.
The critically acclaimed play, which opened in December 2018, will launch a national tour in August 2020 starring Richard Thomas. The Broadway production recently picked up a Tony Award for Celia Keenan-Bolger, who plays Atticus’ daughter Scout.
