Broadway News Ed Harris Will Succeed Jeff Daniels in Broadway's To Kill a Mockingbird Daniels will conclude his Tony-nominated run in November.

Four-time Academy Award nominee Ed Harris, most recently on Broadway in Taking Sides, will succeed Jeff Daniels as Atticus Finch in Aaron Sorkin's adaptation of Harper Lee's novel To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway.

Harris will begin performances at the Shubert Theatre November 5; Daniels, who was Tony-nominated for his work, will play his final performance November 3.

The critically acclaimed play, which opened in December 2018, will launch a national tour in August 2020 starring Richard Thomas. The Broadway production recently picked up a Tony Award for Celia Keenan-Bolger, who plays Atticus’ daughter Scout.

The new stage adaptation of To Kill a Mockingbird, featuring a script by Oscar and Emmy winner Sorkin, features direction by Tony winner Bartlett Sher. Read opening night reviews here. The production frames the Alabama-set story as a memory play as Scout recalls the 1930s trial in which her father defended a black man accused of raping a white girl.
