The show is Luft’s tribute to her mother, Judy Garland. Anecdotes and recollections of Garland as well as her friends — including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. — are interspersed with Garland’s famous songbook. Numbers include “Come Rain or Come Shine,”“For Me and My Gal,” “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love,” “You Made Me Love You” and “The Trolley Song.” New musical arrangements are supplied by Mitzie and Ken Welch, who wrote and direct the show. Songs includes mother-daughter duets sung against a backdrop of rare Garland footage and family album photos. A hit in the U.S., it won Best World Premiere Musical and Best Musical Direction at the Los Angeles Ovation Awards.

If not quite as famous as Garland’s other daughter, Liza Minnelli, Luft has more than done her bit to keep up the family showbiz line. In 1998 she penned the best-selling memoir, “Me and My Shadows: Living With the Legacy of Judy Garland.” That turned into an Emmy Award-winning TV movie starring Judy Davis and Gypsy's Tammy Blanchard.
