New York Musical Festival, the annual festival of brand-new musicals performed at various locations around New York City, opened rehearsals to the press June 25 for a sneak peek at six of the new shows in this year's festival.
The preview featured performances from Flying Lessons, with a book by Donald Rupe and music by Rupe and Cesar de la Rosa; Illuminati Lizards From Outer Space, with music and lyrics by Yuri Worontschak and a book and lyrics by Paul Western-Pittard; LadyShip, with a book, music, and lyrics by Laura and Linda Good; Leaving Eden, with a book and lyrics by Jenny Waxman, music by Ben Page, and additional music by Ada Westfall; Brother Nat, with a book and lyrics by Liana Asim and Jabari Asim, and music by Allyssa Jones and Damien Sneed; and Finding Beautiful, with a book, music, and lyrics by Anessa Marie and Danny Bristol.
Patti LuPone, Gabby Beans, Susan Stroman, André Bishop, and more are featured in this special look back, along with clips from War Horse, The Light in the Piazza, South Pacific, and more.
