Brier plays Tracy Turnblad, the Baltimore teen who changes the face of local TV forever when she promotes integration on a dance show. She also falls in love and gets her mother, Edna, played by Fierstein, a fantastic makeover.
Michael McKean will fill Fierstein's pumps. No replacement has been announced for Brier, who recently received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for her role on ABC-TV's "One Life to Live." She'll continue on the serial and appear as a recurring character on Playhouse Disney's "Jo Jo's Circus," for which she provides the voice of Babalulu.
