Be Aggressive, starring Obie and Drama Desk Award winner Angela Goethals (Blur, The Good Times Are Killing Me) and Tony winner Daisy Eagan as Laura, a high school cheerleader and Hannah, her younger sister, ends its run at La Jolla Playhouse Aug. 26. The world premiere of Annie Weisman's comedy opened July 29 under Lisa Peterson's direction.

When Laura and Hannah lose their mother in a car accident, Laura seeks healing from the pain by throwing herself obsessively into cheerleading. Inspired by Weisman's teen years in affluent Del Mar, Be Aggressive looks at losing someone you love in a world of smoothie shops, environmentalism and too much wealth.

Joining Goethals and Eagan are Mark Harelik ("Election") as Laura's father Phil, Jennifer Elise Cox ("The Brady Bunch") as the zealous cheerleader Leslie, Linda Gehringer ("Evening Shade") as Leslie's mom, Judy. The cheerleader chorus is Tamala Horbianski, Carly Kleiner and Joy Osmanski.

Designing Be Aggressive are Rachel Hauck (sets), Audrey Fisher (costumes), James F. Ingalls (lighting) and Laura Grace Brown (sound). Julie Ann Compton served as the cheer consultant.
