Industry News Kobi Kassal Joins Jukebox Musical Developer Lively McCabe Entertainment

Kassal will serve as creative development and licensing coordinator.

Theatrical production house Lively McCabe Entertainment has appointed Theatrely founder and editor-in-chief Kobi Kassal as its new creative development and licensing coordinator. Kassal will work on the development of new shows, client relations, and marketing and social media strategy.

"The opportunity to expand the staff at Lively McCabe is a privilege and a gift, so it was very important to me to find the right person for this role," says President Allison Bressi in a statement. "Kobi struck me immediately with his passion for theatre in all its various forms, his knowledge of and commitment to our industry, and his enthusiasm for learning. Following his immense success with Theatrely, I look forward to watching Kobi grow as a creative producer and entrepreneur at Lively McCabe. Among the company's portfolio is a number of jukebox musicals built on the catalogue of music publisher Primary Wave Music, the result of a 2022 partnership between the two groups. Primary Wave's collection includes songs by such artists as Prince, Bob Marley, Stevie Nicks, Whitney Houston, Def Leopard, Olivia Newton-John, and Boyz II Men, among others. The partnership has already resulted in the musicals May We AllMystic PizzaPunk Rock GirlThe Santa Switch, and Always Something ThereGirls Just Want to Have Fun and Can't Hardly Wait are currently in development.
