Kevin Barry's In Rebel Country will open May 10 at the Know Tribe Theatre in Cincinnati for a three-week limited engagement.
"It's a contemporary piece about two men who take a road trip to visit James Dean's grave in Fairmount, Indiana," said playwright Kevin Barry. "They get sidetracked by a woman they pick up -- she knows nothing of James Dean."
Barry said In Rebel Country was commissioned by Cincinnati's Know Tribe. "I've had ten plays produced, in LA, Denver, Chicago and New York," Barry said, "so I'm excited to be able to work locally and be part of the production, which I haven't been in the past. We have an all-local cast and the whole experience is rare because in theatre today, getting a new play produced is rare. So, getting a theatre to back you and run for a month is exciting."
Two years ago on April 5, Barry's play Distracted by the Landscape opened at the Moving Arts Theatre.
