Readings and Workshops Joshua Bergasse Will Direct Industry Reading of A Crossing Musical

Written by Marc St. Germain, Christopher Oscar Peña, and Zoe Sarnak, the musical premiered at Barrington Stage Company in 2021.

New York theatre company Repertorio will host two invite-only industry readings of A Crossing - A New Musical October 18.

The new musical—which features a book by Marc St. Germain and Christopher Oscar Peña and music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak—is being directed by Joshua Bergasse.

The work, a dance musical, follows a group of migrants crossing the southern border with a score modeled on Mexican folk music. The musical premiered at Barrington Stage Company in 2021. Repertorio Executive Artistic Director Rafa Sánchez and Andrés Quintero are producing the readings, which will present a new revision of the piece.

The cast will feature Maia Reficco as Gisele, Monica Tulia Ramirez as Luna, Andrés Quintero as Sol, Javier Muñoz as Arturo, Justin Gregory Lopez as Martin, and Aline Mayagoitia as Karina, along with Carlos Encinias, Stefanie Renee Salyers, Mikaela Secada, J. Antonio Rodriguez, Eddie Noel, and Gerianne Perez.

Trip Phillips will be stage manager, with Jenyvette Vega as the reader. Jeffrey Campos is music directing.
