Throughout Fall 2023, the Latiné Musical Theatre Lab hosted The Julia de Burgos Cohort, which is made up of six teams of writers working on new musicals. The program offers mentorship and support for Latiné writers to develop their shows. Over the course of three months, the cohort, facilitated by Rose Van Dyne and Amelia Johnson, met bi-weekly to collaborate.

The New Musicals Mixtape is made possible in part by a project support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature.
