The Green Room 42 welcomed Cast members of Off-Broadway’s Yiddish Fiddler on the Roof , theatre podcast host Ilana Levine, and more to present Stronger Than Hate: A Benefit for Tree of Life Synagogue December 6. The concert raised funds for the Pittsburgh congregation and the victims’ families who were attacked in a shooting on October 27. The mass shooting claimed eleven lives and left seven others injured.
Director and producer Mara Jill Herman continues to collect donations through December 31. (Details below.)
The evening also featured a speaker from the Anti-Defamation League and a performance by Grammy-winning artist Julie Gold. Hosted by Levine, creator of the podcast Little Known Facts, the evening also included appearances by Jodi Bluestein, Jillian Gottlieb, Nathan Klau, Danny Harris Kornfeld, Rebecca Kuznick, Gary John La Rosa, Stephanie Lynn Mason, Jesse Manocherian, Rosie Jo Neddy, Bill Nolte, Collin O'Connor, Samantha Joy Pearlman, the group Scruffy Pearls, Hannah Richter, Alyson Leigh Rossenfeld, Gavriel Savit, Jason Sirois, Eileen Tepper, Marc Winski, Rachel Zatcoff, and Tree of Life congregant Samantha G. Harris. Danny Lepek provided musical direction for the evening.

The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene's Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Joel Grey, will conclude performances at the Museum of Jewish Heritage December 30 before moving uptown to play Off-Broadway's Stage 42 beginning February 11, 2019.
