Brooklyn’s Gallery Players present In the Heights, with music and lyrics by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes. The production, directed by Michael Bello, will play in Park Slope April 23-May 15.
Set in New York City’s Washington Heights, In the Heights tells the story of a young bodega owner, originally played by Miranda himself on Broadway, and his vibrant community. The musical interweaves tales of love, family, education and change.
The ensemble cast includes Paul Aguirre, Daniel Belnavis, Daniel Caraballo, Sydia Cedeno, Steven Charles, Mark Andrew Garner, Gabriela Hernandez, Joomin Hwang, Ryan Jagru, Alexandra Marks, Paloma Munoz, Carman Napier, Silvia Nicoloso, Claire Saunders, Evelio Sotolongo, Josephine Spada and Maite Uzal.
Mark Harborth is executive producer, Jonathan Bruce King is producer; Jacob Carll is music director; and Justin Boccitto is choreographer. Scenic design is by Adam Crinson; lighting design is by Scott Andrew Cally; costume design is by Antonio Consuguera; properties design is by Roxanne Goodby; sound design is by Ian O'Loughlin; production stage manager is Monica Daniels; and assistant stage manager is Emily La Rosa.
