Adapted by Christopher Sergel from the modern classic by S.E. Hinton, this is a play version of the coming-of-age tale. Running September 13 through October 13 at the Athenaeum Center, the production promises to be an immersive, intimate experience.

Directed and produced by Jonathan James, the production reimagines Hinton's novel to enfold audiences into 1967 Tulsa as 14-year-old Ponyboy Curtis struggles to find his place amongst his fellow outcasts.

The Outsiders Chicago will star Liam Pietrzyk as Ponyboy Curtis, Julian Rus as Johnny Cade, Brick Zurek as Dallas Winston, Austin Kinser as Darryl Curtis, Jose Yantin Jr as Sodapop Curtis, Nick Pardo as Two-Bit Mathews, Jamie McCalister as Cherry Valance, Bob DiLeo as Bob Sheldon, Joshua Dizon as Randy Anderson, Olivia Kaye Da Silva as Marcia, and Valentina Mariucci as Sandy.

They will be supported by William Athow, Alastair Blevins, Kennedy Carlson, Brandon Guerrero, Michael Kelley, Ollie King, Pratik Mamtora, and Julie Utrup-O’Nan, with Angela Cusmano, Michael Fosha, Alexander Garcia, Jonathan James, and Keaton Stewart filling out the offstage coverage cast.

Directed by James, The Outsiders Chicago will feature set design by Kathi Campbell and Mary Alice Benoit, sound design by Michael Incardone, costumes by Mary Alice Benoit, lighting design by Rick Keeley, movement choreography by Nick Pardo, fight choreography by Austin Kinser, and intimacy coordination by Taylor Benoit.
