The bio-musical, starring LaChanze, Ariana DeBose, and Storm Lever as the title disco queen, grossed $1,055,612 in the week ending April 29, playing to 92 percent capacity.

Five other shows in contention for awards this season reached seven figures: My Fair Lady ($1,115,499), Carousel ($1,289,712), Mean Girls ($1,457,577), Frozen ($1,684,280), and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ($1,886,079).
Two usual suspects managed to surpass $2 million: The Lion King ($2,134,280) and, leading the pack, Hamilton ($2,823,279).
Other titles that opened earlier in the season, such as The Band's Visit, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Once On This Island, could see a spring box-office boost depending on their performance at the Tony Award nominations, to be announced May 1.
