York Theatre Company continues its Musicals in Mufti series with Hallelujah, Baby!, which opened January 29 at the Theatre at St. Peter’s. Gerry McIntrye directs a cast made up of Stephanie Umoh, Vivian Reed, Jennifer Cody, Randy Donaldson, Bernard Dotson, Latoya Edwards, Michael Thomas Holmes, and Tally Sessions.

The run is scheduled to run through February 4.

Go Inside Opening Night of York Theatre Company’s Hallelujah, Baby!

With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and a book by Arthur Laurents, Hallelujah, Baby! tells the story of Georgina, an African-American woman on her journey to financial and social independence.

The York Theatre Company’s Musicals in Mufti series presents musicals performed in simply-staged, book-in-hand concert formats. Tickets can be purchased online at YorkTheatre.org.
