Comedian Gabe Mollica's Off-Broadway debut Solo: A Show About Friendship has received a six-week extension following an initial limited run of just eight performances that began November 2. The show will return to Soho Playhouse for a new slate of performances running January 11–February 25, with all showtimes starting at 9PM. Josh Gondelman (Last Week Tonight) will be the special guest opener at the January 11 performance.
Mollica will also bring the show to Los Angeles' Yard Theater January 27 and 28, with Avital Ash opening both of those performances.
"I turned 30, and it occurred to me that I don't have any friends," declares Mollica at the top of the show, after which he attempts to explain why, walking audiences through the "30-year-old bros" in his life, teenage relationships, his first go at stand-up, and more. The work previously played Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Winnipeg Fringe Festival, along with performances in Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Albany, and Dublin.
Solo is directed and story produced by Greg Walloch, and produced by Caitlin Cook and Mahmood Alladadweh. Ophira Eisenberg and Devin Delliquanti serve as creative consultants with Abey Weitzman executive producing.
