Off-Broadway’s Ars Nova will host a November 8 reading of the new musical The Apple Boys, written by Ben Bonnema (music and lyrics) and Jonothon Lyons (book), featuring Fun Home Tony Award nominee Emily Skeggs.
Two performances will be presented at 7 PM and 9:30 PM as part of Ars Nova’s One Night Stand series, which presents one-night-only works in progress.
David Alpert, associate director of If/Then and The Trip to Bountiful and artistic director of headline programming for BroadwayCon, directs the musical set in turn-of-the-century Coney Island. In addition to Skeggs, the four-person cast features book writer Lyons, Britton Smith (Shuffle Along), and Teddy Yudain (Madama Butterfly).
