See their two-show day from both perspectives.
The first thing I see and do when I wake up: prep arrangements near my sleepy dog Pippa. This is not just a 2 show day, it is a 4 show day as after each performance of "Sex Tips" we do a 15 minutes Skivvies concert with a special guest. I'm already tired.
And we are off to get caffeinated! I live in NJ so the drive thru Starbucks always gives Pippa a treat and a Puppaccino.
Had to get a trim. This is the before...
And ahhhhhhhfter!!
The drive from Weehawken commences and this song let's me know what's up! "I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night!!!"
Minus the traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel of course.
When we arrive at the theatre, Lauren, Benny Elledge (our drummer) and I do a quick sound check to make sure our instruments are able to be heard.
THE BAND'S ALL HERE.
After performance number one of Sex Tips, Max Crumm joined us to sing a mash up of Teenage Dream by Katy Perry and Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley.
After performance number 2 of Sex Tips, we take our character's clothes off to begin the 4th performance of our day. It's HOT IN HERRE, literally as it is 101 degrees outside and we are dripping sweat from this workout of a show!
Ellyn Marsh joined us for the second Skivvies performance of the evening (show #4) singing Alanis Morissette's See Right Through/ Mr Cellophane/ I see Right Thru You wrapped in Saran Wrap!
That's ALL folks!
Back in NJ by midnight and Pippa is fast asleep atop my husband's head.
A black panther cat named Fordham wakes me up by kneading on me and giving me head butts.
The second I open my eyes in the morning, Hoodie meows to pay attention to her first. It's breakfast time.
Egg white veggie wrap and iced green tea to get me going.
Fordham immediately jumps on my kitchen table to get in on the deliciousness. He loves people food, especially egg sandwiches.
Walking down the street in my hood on the Upper West Side. It's 93 degrees and sunny and humid today.
The spot on my block where people always leave bird food for pigeons.
Time for a mani pedi!
In the middle of my gel mani a fruit fly landed on my wet nail polish and got stuck. Gross.
After the fly was removed, I got a great mani.
...and pedi.
Off to the shows with all my gear, electric cello, and skivvies attire!
A quick pic in the middle of the first show. I play Robin Brown, a nerdy, insecure aspiring professor who learns about sex and transforms into a confident, sexy lady by the end.
The Skivvies and Max Crumm after he brought the house down singing a mashup of "Teenage Dream" and "Never Gonna Give You Up".
Ellyn Marsh rocks the house with The Skivvies in a Glad Cling Wrap dress singing a mashup of "Mr. Cellophane" and "See Thru You". Benny Elledge on cajon, Andrew Gutauskas on melodica.
