Producing/Executive Director Kim Whitener will step down from her role at HERE this fall after more than a decade with the downtown theatre. Whitener, who has been producing director at HERE since 2007 and became executive director earlier this year, will continue to work in the performing arts in a creative and producing role with her company KiWi Productions.

At KiWi, Whitener will work with a range of U.S. artists and companies primarily in the contemporary opera-theatre and music-theatre worlds.
During her tenure at HERE, Whitener worked with Founding Artistic Director Kristin Marting in co-curating and co-producing HERE’s producing and presenting programs, as well as other special projects. She was instrumental in the launching of HERE's annual Protoype: Opera/Theatre/Now festival.
Following her departure, HERE General Manager Meredith Lynsey Schade will become producing director, and Director of Advancement Brenna Thomas will become HERE’s director of External Affairs beginning September 1.
HERE is an Obie-winning organization set to launch its 26th year of producing new work across theatre, music, art, dance, and puppetry this fall. The upcoming season will launch with Soundstage, a live theatre and film hybrid performed by resident artist Rob Roth alongside his on-film counterpart, stage and screen actor Rebecca Hall (Animal).
