Tony Award nominee Melissa Errico plays the searching-for-love Leona, and the operatically trained Richard Troxell plays the suave Italian Renato De Rossi in a revival of the musical Do I Hear a Waltz?, being presented May 11-15 as part of the Encores! series at New York City Center.

The rarely produced 1965 musical, the only collaboration between composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist Stephen Sondheim, also features Claybourne Elder, Sarah Hunt, Zachary Infante, Sarah Stiles, Cass Morgan, Michael Rosen and Richard Poe. Do I Hear a Waltz?, which opened March 18, 1965, and ran 220 performances, has never been revived on Broadway.

Directed by Evan Cabnet (Broadway's Thérèse Raquin), the production has an ensemble that includes Kristine Bendul, Paloma Garcia-Lee, Jenny Laroche, Jennifer Locke, Nathan Madden, Skye Mattox, Devin Roberts, Manny Stark and Alex Wong.

According to production notes, “Do I Hear a Waltz? tells the romantic tale of Leona Samish (Errico), a middle-class American woman who uses her meager savings for a long-dreamed-of trip to Venice, where she finds love, life, and her truest self.”

The show has choreography by Chase Brock and music direction by Rob Berman.
