Engel replaces Mike McGowan, who will be joining the Toronto production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert the Musical prior to its move to Broadway in spring 2011. Kostroff replaces Laurent Giroux. Engel returns to this stage after appearing in Goodspeed Musicals' production of Dames At Sea. His Broadway credits include Putting It Together (with Carol Burnett), Seussical: The Musical and the original Broadway production of La Cage Aux Folles. Engel was the original Smudge in Forever Plaid and Plaid Tidings.
After 20 years in Los Angeles, Kostroff marks his East Coast return with this production, his Goodspeed debut. He is best known for his work on HBO's "The Wire" and Disney's "Sonny with a Chance." He toured nationally in The Producers and Les Misérables.
Carnival! opened Aug. 4 at Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT. Performances continue to Sept. 18.
