Located in the Catskill Mountains, performances are scheduled for July 24 and 25.
Ghost Quartet is a theatrical presentation of chamber music ensemble Ghost Quartet's self-titled album. The show is staged in the round with the musicians seated amongst the audience, and the piece is scored for four voices, cello, guitars, dulcimer, autoharp, piano, keyboards and percussion.
Malloy, Brittain Ashford, Gelsey Bell and Brent Arnold will all reprise their performances for the special outdoor rendition, and Annie Tippe again directs. The show follows four friends in a tale spanning seven centuries and featuring a murderous sister, an astronomer, a bear, a subway and the ghost of Thelonious Monk. The musicians are seated among the audience, who is encouraged to participate and partake in the whiskey drinking.
Ghost Quartet was developed with support from Berkeley Repertory Theatre and the Bushwick Starr.
