The Assassination of Gianni Versace, the second installment of Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story anthology series, debuts January 17 on FX at 10 PM ET; check local listings.
In the series, Darren Criss (Glee, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) stars as serial murderer Andrew Cunanan. The season also features Penélope Cruz, Ricky Martin, Edgar Ramirez, and Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford.
In the video above, members of the cast and creative team discuss the crime explored in the nine-part series. Executive Producer Nina Jacobson says, “For every season of American Crime Story, what we're interested in is what makes this an American crime, a crime America is guilty of, not just the characters we're exploring.” Adds Criss, “The truth is fear and prejudice, unfortunately, is always in fashion.”
Murphy, Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Brad Falchuk, Alexis Martin Woodall, Dan Minahan, and Tom Rob Smith serve as executive producers. Murphy directed the premiere episode, written by Tom Rob Smith.
