A spokesperson for the Tony-winning musical confirmed that Dandridge will again portray Joanne Jefferson beginning Nov. 24. Dandridge was last in the company when pop star Joey Fatone played the role of Mark. Dandridge replaces Kenna J. Ramsey, who is currently starring in the role created by Fredi Walker.
On Broadway Merle Dandridge has appeared in Rent, Aida and Jesus Christ Superstar, and she also starred in the tours of Aida, Ain't Misbehavin' and Smokey Joe's Cafe. Dandridge recently filmed a pilot for UPN, entitled "The Edge," and she can also be seen on the WB's "Angel."
