The Victory Gardens Theatre staging is the Midwest premiere of the play and it has been a big hit for the company. So much so, that following the end of the run on Oct. 31, the production will take the unusual trip of transferring to a bigger Chicago nonprofit, the Goodman Theatre. Anna will play the Goodman's intimate, 290-seat Owen Theatre from Nov. 7 to Nov. 30. The Victory Gardens run is sold out, but tickets to the Goodman stay go on sale Oct. 22 at 10 AM. Call the Goodman Theatre box office at (312) 443-3800 or purchase tickets online at http://www.Ticketweb.com.
Anna is currently played to full crowds at the McCarter Theatre of Princeton, NJ. Following its close on Oct. 19, it will transfer intact to Broadway, beginning a commercial run on Nov. 4.
Henry Godinez directs. The Chicago cast features Charin Alvarez (Conchita), Sandra Delgado (Marela), Ricardo Gutierrez (Cheché), Sandra Marquez (Ofelia), Dale Rivera (Juan Julian), Gustavo Mellado (Santiago) and Eddie Torres (Palomo).
