Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical will be staged in concert for two performances later this autumn. Playing London's Southbank Centre, in Queen Elizabeth Hall, the production will play both a matinee and an evening performance October 11. 

The musical celebrates the life and career of Lloyd Price, known for hits like "Personality," "Lawdy Miss Clawdy," and "Stagger Lee." Price was a pioneering figure in rock 'n' roll, becoming the first teenager to sell over a million records and found his own label. His music and influence inspired generations, and reshaped popular culture, with legends like Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul McCartney recording his work.

Cedric Neal will star as Lloyd Price, reprising his role from workshops last year. Neal, currently starring in Hadestown on the West End, received an Olivier nomination for his work in the hit revival of Guys and Dolls at the Bridge Theatre. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

It has been a great honor to bring his story to the stage, and audiences have responded with gratitude, enthusiasm, and the desire to know even more about this wonderful artist.”

With music and lyrics from Price's back catalog, Personality features a book by B. Jeffrey Madoff. For the concert staging, Epps leads a creative team that includes choreographer Edgar Godineaux and music supervisor Shelton Becton. U.K. casting is by Pearson Casting.
