As the March 30 release of the second season of A Series of Unfortunate Events nears, Netflix has released a new trailer for the comedy.
The glimpse at the ten-episode season reveals that headliner Neil Patrick Harris isn’t the only theatre star taking part in the mayhem: fellow tony winner Roger Bart will play Vice-Principal Nero.
The children’s chapter books chronicle the story of the Baudelaire orphans and their evil fortune-hunting uncle, Count Olaf. With each of the 13 books in the series, the three children find a new relative to take them in, only for Count Olaf to kill that relative and re-capture the orphans. The series will total 26 episodes in three seasons—two episodes per book.
Netflix, in conjunction with Paramount Television, first announced plans to adapt Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events—the darkly comedic novels—into a streaming series in 2014. The first season was released on Netflix in January last year, starring Tony winner Harris (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) as Count Olaf.
