Part of New York City’s world famous holiday tradition since 1933, the Radio City Music Spectacular is back again this holiday season and the cast recording is now available in stores on Legacy/Sony/Radio City Records. The holiday CD, which features a “wide gamut of cheer and styles” features such favorites as Jerry Herman’s “We Need a Little Christmas” from the 1968 Broadway hit Mame. Also included on the compilation are Dreamgirls composer Henry Krieger’s “Santa’s Gonna Rock and Roll,” Victor Herbert’s “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers” from Babes in Toyland, Music Man composer Meredith Wilson’s “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” and Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn’s “Let it Snow” and “The Christmas Waltz.” Irving Berlin is represented as well with “Snow,” “Happy Holidays” and the Bing Crosby/Rosemary Clooney holiday standard, “White Christmas.”
