Caroline Bowman, seen on Broadway this past season in Smash and Sunset Blvd., will be part of the Olney Theatre Center's upcoming concert staging of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World August 14-15.
Part of the Maryland venue's Olney Outdoors series, the production will also feature Florrie Bagel (Parade), Adelina Mitchell (Wicked), and Swept Away's Michael Mainwaring and John Sygar.
Olney Theatre Associate Artistic Director/Director of Music Theatre Christopher Youstra will serve as the music director and conductor for the concert.
Created from songs Tony winner Brown had written for other venues, the theatrical song cycle presents a series of sharply drawn characters in critical moments of decision.
Olney Outdoors will kick off July 31 with South Pacific, featuring William Michals and Jessica Lauren Ball, followed by a preview of Douglas Carter Beane and Lewis Flinn's To Wong Foo—The Musical August 21. Tituss Burgess will also perform in concert August 7.
Kevin S. McAllister is the curator of Olney Outdoors.
