The city of L.A. is honoring Burnett for her lifetime achievements in show business. The intersection, next to Hollywood High School, was chosen because the school was Burnett's alma mater and because she grew up in Hollywood.
Burnett is scheduled to be in attendance at the open unveiling of the Carol Burnett Square plaque at 2 PM.
Burnett, who received a Special Tony Award in 1969, was nominated for her performances in Once Upon a Mattress and Moon Over Buffalo. She has also been seen on Broadway in Putting It Together and Fade Out – Fade In.
