Performances begin April 3 for the Cherry Lane production of The Climb by C.A. Johnson (Thirst, An American Feast). The new play, directed by Jenna Worsham (Agnes), follows Tiffany, a 30-year-old woman who is the sole subject of her wife’s photography career.
In The Climb, Tiffany, played by Renika Williams, absconds on a month-long hiking trip, leaving both her and her wife (played by Erin Anderson) questioning everything from the future of their marriage to the true meaning of a moment captured in time.
Sharlene Cruz and Alex Hurt complete the cast.
The Climb runs through April 13 as part of Cherry Lane's Obie-winning Mentor Project. Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Martyna Majok is attached as a mentor to the production.
The show features set design by Lawrence E. Moten III, costume design by Andy Jean, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, sound design by Z Worthington, casting by Eisenberg/Beans Casting, general management by Mott/Fischer Productions, and production management by Iron Bloom Creative Production. Seth Betzler is the production stage manager.
Tickets for the Mentor Project are $25 and are available here or by calling (866) 811-4111.
