Bubba Weiler’s Well, I’ll Let You Go, which ends its seven-week Off-Broadway engagement at The Space at Irondale September 12, has recouped its initial investment after a total of 44 performances.
Previews began at the Brooklyn venue July 29 prior to an official opening August 7.
Producers Jacob Stuckelman and Andrew Patino of Regular People said in a statement, “We are in the midst of an ongoing renaissance of bold,
unconventional producing models Off-Broadway. Regular People is deeply
gratified that audiences were willing to embrace such a powerful and
resonant debut play, especially at the height of summer.”
Directed by Drama Desk and Obie winner Jack Serio, the cast features Tony nominee Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Cricket Brown (Judgment Day), Obie winner Michael Chernus (Severance), Will Dagger (Good Night, and Good Luck), Lortel and Obie winner Emily Davis (Is This A Room), Danny McCarthy (The Minutes, To Kill a Mockingbird), Drama Desk nominee Constance Shulman (The Rose Tattoo), and Amelia Workman (The Antiquities). Tony nominee Marin Ireland joined the company for the final 12 performances.
Set in a small Midwestern town, Well, I'll Let You Go, which marks Weiler’s professional playwriting debut, is a portrait of a woman and a community in crisis. The play shifts backwards and forwards in time, sifting through the rubble of a town, a marriage, and a life built on an American Dream that’s crumbled.
The production also features scenic design by Frank J. Oliva, costume design by Avery Reed, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, sound design by Brandon Bulls, original music by Avi Amon, associate direction by Jackson Paul Walker, casting by Taylor Williams, production stage management by Zach Brecheen, and assistant stage management by Hannah Frye-Ginsberg.
Well, I’ll Let You Go was produced by Stuckelman, Patino, Kyle Rogers, Matt Krauss of Regular People along with Patrick Catullo, The Cohn Sisters, Shira Friedman, Danny Kopel, Ordinary Magic, and Lauren Weinberger. Stuckelman and Christian Palomares served as general managers.
