Broadway News Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre Will Dim Its Lights in Memory of Tina Turner

The Grammy-winning music icon passed away May 24 at the age of 83.

The Broadway community will honor the memory of music icon Tina Turner June 21 by dimming the lights of the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, the former home of Tina—The Tina Turner Musical, the musical based on Ms. Turner's triumphant life story.

The lights of the Lunt-Fontanne, currently the home of the revival of Sweeney Todd, will be dimmed for one minute beginning at 7 PM ET.

The Queen of Rock 'n' Roll passed away May 24, 2023, at the age of 83. 

Ms. Turner served as executive producer of Tina—The Tina Turner Musical, which was nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show received its world premiere in the West End in 2018 and is currently in its fifth year at the Aldwych Theatre. The musical was produced on Broadway by Stage Entertainment, James L. Nederlander, and Tali Pelman, in association with Ms. Turner.
